Pancakes!Under Applebee’s “Community Connections,” a community outreach program sponsored by Applebee’s® International, Inc., Furry Kids’ Refuge is pleased to announce its Flapjack Fundraiser – "Pancakes for PAWS” on Saturday, February 20, 2010 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar: 701 Melody Lane, Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

We will have GREAT raffle prizes and all kinds of other goodies for all! You'll enjoy a GREAT Applebee's breakfast of eggs, pancakes, sausage and a beverage of your choice and you're sure to have a GREAT time!

The funds raised by the Pancakes for PAWS breakfast helps Furry Kids get through th slow winter months when adoptions tend to slow down and vet bills continue to go up! It will also help us to continue our rescue work and help animals in need...animals like "George"

In recognition of the generosity of this community to Furry Kids Refuge, tickets purchased in advance of the event will be offered at a special early bird rate of $7 each and will be available for online purchase or at Furry Kids’ Refuge adoption events, held each Saturday at Lee’s Summit Petco (1860 N.W. Chipman Road, Lee’s Summit, Missouri).   Tickets will be available at the door the morning of the event for $10 each. Your participation is so appreciated, we love seeing all our adopters and supporters at our fundraising events!

EVENTS 2008 FURRY KIDS STATS

Rummage Sale Success!!!
Our 3rd Annual Fall Rummage Sale at the Lee's Summit VFW Hall was a great success raising $2700. We had tons of great items donated making this another great fundraiser with the money raised going to help pay for our veterinary expenses.

HUGE THANKS
goes out to all of our donors and supporters for again making the rummage sale fundraiser a success!

Furry Kids had 472 successful adoptions during 2008. What a good year it was for so many dogs and cats, we hope that 2009 will prove to be just as successful. Click the link below to see more of what Furry Kids accomplished during 2008.

He loves other dogs and he LOVES to go swimming!! Redmond has a beautiful red coat...very soft and cuddly!! He can jump a 42' fence so his new home would have to have a fenced-in yard with a 4'-6' fence. Redmond is an AWESOME dog! He would be a great addition to your family!!

"We allow businesses to mass market the sale of puppies in the name of free enterprise, and then we mass murder those same puppies in the name of health, safety, and welfare ringing up a hefty pricetag for tax payers. John Q. Public pays twice for that puppy. Once when he purchases it, and again when he relinquishes it to the shelter to be euthanized. We push these puppies on people and then we pass legislation telling them they cannot own them. There is no reason to this madness and the madness must stop."
