PLEASE HELP OUR FURRY KIDS!
WELCOME TO FURRY KIDS' REFUGE!

Hi...I'm Magic! We hope that you are visiting our website because you are looking to add a new dog or cat to your family. Someone like Magic here, who is waiting for just the right forever home! Just click on his picture for more information. We have so many wonderful animals available for adoption; feline and canine; large and small; old and young. Furry Kids is an all-volunteer foster organization and no-kill rescue. What that means is that we strive to know as much about the animals in our care so we can help you find just the right one - and that each is safe in our care until the right forever home is found for each.

To view all the animals available for adoption through Furry Kids, please click on the Petfinder link to your left. We appreciate your desire to adopt!

Back in Black 2 - National Adoption Event!

Back in Black! The Back in Black adoption event highlights and celebrates pet adoptions.  It’s designed to bring attention to the special need for adoption of black shelter and rescue dogs and cats. So often these homeless pets are overlooked just because of the color of their fur and outdated myths. Families are cheating themselves when they walk by these characters without getting to know their friendly, loveable and sometimes goofy personalities.

Supported by national animal welfare organization Best Friends Animal Society®, about 100 animal rescue groups and shelters across the country including Furry Kids' Refuge are participating. Last year, the Back in Black adoption event was introduced to showcase black dogs and cats and give them the best chance at being adopted. More than 900 pets found homes nationwide.

In support of this national event, Furry Kids' Refuge is holding a “Back in Black" promotion between May 1 and May 31 to highlight adorable, adoptable black dogs and cats. The adoption fee for all black dogs will be half the normal fee!! WOW!!

FEATURED PETS!

Danny
Stella is a female Beagle who was found roaming the streets without any collar or identification. She appears to have been neglected as she was in desperate need of dental care and basic grooming.  She is a Senior Gal, but is very sweet and trusting and still has plenty of love left to give.

BindiMy name is Lacy and I have a gorgeous black coat with a little brown tint here and there.  I think I was dumped by my owners so I decided to hang out with some feral cats One day, this really nice lady showed up to help the feral cats get spayed and neutered.  I ran right up to her and started loving on her, giving her my best purr!  I thought if I was really nice she might help me find a nice forever home.  It worked!!!  She is now my foster mom and she says I'm completely loving and very easy going.  I can also purr really, really good!!  Would you like to listen??

"We allow businesses to mass market the sale of puppies in the name of free enterprise, and then we mass murder those same puppies in the name of health, safety, and welfare ringing up a hefty pricetag for tax payers. John Q. Public pays twice for that puppy. Once when he purchases it, and again when he relinquishes it to the shelter to be euthanized. We push these puppies on people and then we pass legislation telling them they cannot own them. There is no reason to this madness and the madness must stop."
